What are the academic admission requirements for MS in Sports Analytics and Management?
You must have a bachelor’s degree.
Do I need experience in sports to participate?
No prior sports management experience is required for admission to the program; however, this program is geared toward those with prior professional experience.
How long will it take to complete my program?
The program could be completed in 20 months by students taking two courses per semester.
Do you require submission of test scores?
No. We do not require a submission of GRE test scores.
Can I transfer credit for previous graduate work?
AU will accept up to six hours of graduate work from another institution that applies directly to the degree. Transfer credits form another institution must be approved by the admissions team.
What documents are required when applying?
The required application documents include:
- A completed application
- Phone Interview with Admissions Advisor
- Résumé
- Statement of purpose
- Two letters of recommendation, which may be from former professors as well as current or former employers
- Transcripts from previous undergraduate and relevant graduate coursework (If a degree was earned outside the U.S., a course-by-course evaluated transcript is required.)
When does each semester start?
Our fall semester starts in August. The spring semester begins in January. Our summer session begins in May.
When is the deadline for application?
Our application deadline will change depending on which to semester you are applying for. Please contact our online admissions staff for a specific timeline your application file needs to be fully submitted. Admission decisions are usually given about two weeks following submission.
Is financial aid available?
Graduate students enrolled at least part time in a Master's program may be eligible for federal loans. To apply, students must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Is this program offered on campus?
No. This is an exclusive program being offered online.
There will be opportunities for the learners to meet each other face to face but they are all optional.
Is there a certificate option?
Yes. The online Graduate Certificate in Sports Analytics and Management consists of four courses focused on the strategic management of sports organizations, sports analytics and evaluation, and digital technology influencing the sports industry. If you decide to pursue the online MS in Sports Analytics and Management at a later date, you can use these 12 credits towards the full degree.
What should I expect from the capstone course?
All students will have the opportunity to focus on an area of their interest and work with a client to complete their capstone project. Students will work with an experienced faculty member who will serve as a mentor and provide feedback throughout each step of the project.
Will I be able to take advantage of the same resources as on-campus students do?
Yes, online students are encouraged to obtain a Student ID and take advantage of all of the same resources as our on-campus students.
