A member of the American University faculty since 1969, Robert Karch is a full professor in the Department of Health Studies. He is also the founder of the Masters of Science program in Health Promotion Management.

He has a BS in Physical Education from University of Maryland (College Park), an MEd in Physical Education from American University, and an EdD in Higher Education Administration from American University.
