Leslie Sherriff has worked since 1996 in the international relief and development field. Her experience includes nine years with Catholic Relief Services, one of the largest relief and development organizations in the United States.
During that time, Ms. Sherriff worked primarily in the Balkans and became Country Representative for the Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) and Serbia program managing a $10 million program and staff in two country offices. Specific projects included democracy promotion, education, and refugee return and integration activities funded by USAID, the United States Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, the government of The Netherlands, UNHCR, and others. The CRS BiH social housing program, which Ms. Sherriff helped design, has been recognized as a leader in its field, prompting real legislative change in BiH and subsequent funding from a variety of donors. She has also worked with Learning in NGOs (LINGOs) to assist in the design of an on-line project management course for NGO professionals in developing countries.
Ms. Sherriff holds a Master of Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh in the USA and a Master of Evaluation and Social Research from London Metropolitan University in London, England. She is currently an independent consultant based in Maastricht, The Netherlands.
