Jolynn Gardner is the Director of the Public Health program in American University's Department of Health Studies, and she brings more than 25 years of experience in undergraduate Public Health education and curriculum development to her role.

Dr. Gardner's other academic and research interests include drug abuse education and prevention, healthy nutrition and lifestyle initiatives, and issues associated with stress, change, and loss, particularly among young adults.

Dr. Gardner earned a doctorate in Community Health Education and Health Services Administration from The Ohio State University and is certified as a Health Education Specialist. She is also the author of From Stress to Strength: Increasing Optimism, Gratitude, and Resiliency.
