Katherine Broendel works as the media and public relations manager for the American Association of University Women. She earned her M.A. in Public Communication from American University, and her graduate thesis focused on the framing of sexual violence in the media. She won Best Academic Paper in Public Communication from the American University School of Communication in 2009. In addition, she presented her thesis topic as a panelist at the Urban Transformations: Public and Private Practices of Social Change Conference.
Katherine earned her B.A. in Geography from the University of Mary Washington, and has worked for several non-profit organizations in Washington, D.C., including the National Geographic Society.
